We all know how important it is to stay in shape but it is all too easy to let life get in the way. It's hard to carve out time for working out but it's important to realize the impact it can have on your stress level, especially through the adoption process. The homestudies, the preparation; it can take it's toll on you and your family. This is why keeping your body energized is so crutial. Working out is a stress reliever! Exercise increases your overall health and your sense of well-being, which puts more pep in your step every day. People with children also find it hard to make time for exericse but there are many ways to squeeze in a workout. Fit in exercise while your children are napping; there are so many great workouts you can do at home. Occupy your children with a video or toy while you do some toning exercises, such as tricep dips or squats. Get your kids involved by turning on some music and dancing together or grab your stroller and go for a walk. Set a good example for your family and get your spouse involved. Maintaining a healthy diet it also important, including a healthy breakfast and nutritious snacks. A great snack idea is to take 3 small rye melba toast crackers, spread them with low fat cream cheese and a few dried cranberries. It is important to make time for YOU. You deserve it, and so does your family.
