Sharing with Family and Friends

We truly feel lucky to have such supportive friends and family stand by our side as we take our first steps into the adoption process.
While we know we have a great support group, I still worry about what some people think when we tell them that we are adopting or that we put up a blog about it. I know I shouldn't care about what people think but this isn't a decision on what outfit I wear to work or what kind of car I drive, this is a decision about starting my family and having to do it in a way that is still viewed as a second option; a choice that isn't willingly made but  made for you through infertility.
Let me tell ya something-I've ALWAYS wanted to adopt. I've never felt the need to have my own child when there were children in the world that needed the love I have to give. D and I went through infertility treatments last summer and I'm at peace with the outcome.
I'm excited and nervous and a whole lotta worried about taking this step, but with my family and friends by my side, I'm ready for the ride!
