Wow...

This weekend has been a whirlwind of activity! D and I are prepping for the upcoming move into the larger apartment that has room for both Popop K AND a new baby, we are searching for a church that we can call our own, and we have made a decision on what agency to sign with!!
We will be signing with Adoption Links Worldwide who has merged with Lutheran Family Services. We have an informational meeting tomorrow night at 5:30.
D and I have been researching adoption profiles and we think we want to make an adoption book for the birth mother to look through. I like the idea of having a tactile reminder of who we are and what we have to offer a child for the BM to hold and flip through. It feels much more personal than a website. I'm not ruling a website out but the book is my priority.
It's exhausting and thrilling to be looking for the RIGHT pictures to include in our book. I never realized how crazy I am about taking pictures of us!!  We have THOUSANDS of pictures to choose from and I want to get started on the book right away!  I want every picture to speak to the birth mother about who we are and what kind of parents we will be.
We have chosen a few close family members/friends to write a little bit about us and we feel honored that they were eager to be a part of this process. My grandmother is going to write my introduction and D's father is going to write his introduction. My best friend, and future godmother of my children, Mandi (aka Auntie Em) is going to write about both of us. Jessica and Josh, our close friends, are going to write about how we interact with their children.  D and I will write about each other and what our family dynamic is. I feel so much pressure to get this right and I feel overwhelmed that our friends love us so much that they are a part of this. I'm tearing up a little bit and I should be working so I'm going to sign off for now. xoxo
